Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Michael Reinertz. I am a passionate English teacher with a broad range of experience in English education. I hold a Master’s in English from Oxford University, as well as a Master’s in English Education from the University of Boston. I have worked in a variety of educational environments ranging from an inner-city public school in Boston to an adult learning center in Amsterdam.

Across these varied experiences, one thing has always remained a constant in my practice: focus on the individualized needs of my students. As someone who grew up in a multi-lingual household (English, German, French, and Luxembourgish), I understand that language is best acquired with a sense of purpose. Whether that be intrinsic (personal development), extrinsic (professional development), or a combination of both, I strive to help my students realise their purpose in their unique journey to learning the English language.

On a personal note: I love tennis, bouldering, producing music, reading, and writing poetry (I was the runner-up for the Jon Stallworthy Prize during my time at Oxford). I also recently converted from a dog- to a cat-person when I got my first cat, Sailor. He is slow to learn English, but I love him nonetheless!
